A pioneering project of the new Student Government, Lumiere seeks to honour the school’s Dean’s Listers for their hard work and academic prowess.

Together with the Office of the President and the Student Life, the Student Government hosted Lumière: Night of the Brightest in the Atrium last April 12. Not only bright minds but also bright smiles filled the venue, observed Dean Ed Rodriguez.

Dean Ed said in jest, “It seems the school standards need to catch up with the fast-improving quality of the Enderun students.” He addressed the Dean’s Listers as heroes of Enderun, and challenged them to be the role models in cultivating the school spirit and championing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Assisted by Sustainability’s Sir Macky Maceda, and Business and Entrepreneurship’s Sir Rocky Laurel and Sir Durwin Santos, Dean Ed then awarded certificates to the deserving students.

In his congratulatory remarks, Sir Jack Tuason, founder of Enderun Colleges, offered his nugget of wisdom on work-life balance. “You are taking the extra step to differentiate yourselves. You are proving yourself to be successful as early as today. It takes a lot to achieve what you have done but never forget to find time in your busy schedules to pat yourself on the back. Slow down a bit. Celebrate. Enjoy.”

Lumière then offered delicacies from Resto 101, inspiring faculty and students to mingle and chat with one another.

Financial Management student Sean Dominise considered the Dean’s Lister award as a motivation to continue and achieve more. Economics student Christopher Klausner took the award as a dare to share his time and talent with the academically challenged.

Chelsea Abcede, Enderun Student Government Treasurer and organizer of the event, believes that Lumière celebrates “the excellence not only of the students but also of the faculty members and department heads who work hard to mold their students.”
