Saturday Night Frights Event Recap
To celebrate the spookiest time of the year, the Enderun Hospitality Hub invited the school’s students, faculty, staff, and even outside guests, for a spooky evening on campus with an event called “SATURDAY NIGHT FRIGHTS”, headed by members Caela Escalambre and Bianca Sitchon. Everyone who registered was highly encouraged to attend wearing their best Halloween costumes, and they surely did deliver!
Hosted by E•HHUB members Kyla Evangelista and Janna Kairuz, the night started off with a trick-or-treat activity at select areas of the school during sunset. Tons of candies and other sweets were given away to the trick-or-treaters, courtesy of the Registrar, MIS Office, Scholarship, Admissions, Guidance, and SHS departments, respectively.
At the price of admission, registrants were treated with stubs to claim delicious food and drinks from the various concessionaires present during the event. These included Enderun student-owned businesses such as AMAH, Hold My Egg, Home Table Deli, and even street food vendors from Barangay Pinagsama. IHM organizations the Enderun Food and Wine Society (EFWS) and Culinaire were present as well.
Of course, an on-campus Halloween party wouldn’t be complete without a couple of fun activities! A Jail Booth, an Escape Room, and a Horror Maze. These were a hit with attendees, garnering long lines (or should I say victims?) throughout the night. There was also a special screening of ‘Orphan: First Kill’ in the BA building for those who preferred to experience fear in comfort.
The fright was definitely felt throughout the evening with the ambiance and set-up created by the organizers of the event. The HA, BA, and TH buildings were all decorated in red lights, spiderwebs, bats, skulls and other creepy decorations that would make one’s skin crawl. To highlight the importance of sustainability in our campus, the decorating process was done in a green manner, making use of old, printed-out paper for their posters, old newspapers, bottles, and cardboard boxes. They’ve also made it a point to save all their decorations for future use in events.
The event had 220 attendees, all wearing creative and well-thought-out costumes for the evening. Some spotted include a J&T Delivery Guy, Audrey Hepburn, Indiana Jones, and an impressive DIY Denji costume from “Chainsaw Man”. Though all are appreciated for their great effort, only a select few were chosen to win the grand prizes offered. Saturday Night Frights capped off with the announcement of the best in costume winners and raffle.
To commend their hard work, Megan Villarojo was awarded Best in Costume for the solo student category, Julienne Simbajon and Elijah Delgadillo for the partner category, Abran Atif, Chaela Nuñez, Shania Dani, and Kenny Dani for the group category, and Ms. Bel Castro for the faculty category.
Special thanks to E•HHUB’s partners Enderun Student Government, SOCD, PATA, EFWS, and Culinaire for helping make Saturday Night Frights possible!
