Love Is In The Air Playlist

Since Chinese New Year is finally over, we can now move on to Valentine’s Day, a day to celebrate love. This is also a day when we play our Valentine’s Day playlist in order for us to feel the Valentine’s Day vibes. Here are seven songs that you can all add to your Spotify or Apple Music playlists.

  1. Anyone by Justin Bieber
I chose this song as part of my Valentine’s Day playlist because it reminds me of couples showing each other how much they love them. Some lyrics that really caught my attention were “Forever’s not enough time to, Love you the way that I want (love you the way that I want), ‘Cause every morning I find you, I fear the day that I don’t.” This line caught my attention because even if we think forever is a long time, it isn’t because sooner or later we will leave this earth and that is why we should always remind the people around us how much we love them.
  2. Mine by Taylor Swift
We all know that Taylor Swift will always be a part of our playlists even during Valentine’s Day. This song is a perfect example of how imperfect relationships can be, “And I remember that fight, two-thirty am, ‘Cause everything was slipping right out of our hands I ran out, crying, and you followed me out into the street.” This line reminds us that couples have their ups and downs, but despite them fighting, they’ll always fix things because of how much they love each other. Feel free to dedicate this song to your significant others during Valentine’s Day because it’ll remind them of how much they mean to you.
  3. Perfect by Ed Sheeran
This song will always be on repeat because of the lyrics that were sung by Ed Sheeran. “Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song, when you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath, but you heard it darling, you look perfect tonight” is one of my favorite lyrics because this reminded me that no matter how we look, our significant others or the people we love will always love us.
  4. Best Part by H.E.R (feat. Daniel Caesar)
This song is dedicated to those who love listening to RnB. I chose this song because of the beat and this line, “If life is a movie, oh you’re the best part.” This line reminded me of couples being the best part of their lives because of how they love each other despite the downfalls that they’ve experienced. This can be played during car drives and it can also be your karaoke song that you can sing with your friends, crush or significant others.
  5. Stuck With U by Ariana Grande (with Justin Bieber)
We’re back again with another Justin Bieber song but this was a collaboration with Ariana Grande. Surely, we have all heard this song on Tiktok or Spotify during the first few months of the pandemic. “And there’s nothing I’d rather do, I’m stuck with you.” This line was my favorite because it reminded me of that moment of meeting the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. There’s always that person whom you want to spend the rest of your life with and I’m glad my friends, and I found that person.
  6. Love Myself by Hailee Steinfeld
For all my independent single ladies out there who aren’t interested in having a relationship yet, this song is for you. The line “Gonna love myself, no, I don’t need anybody else.”, talks about loving ourselves and not needing anyone else. This song is an anthem for young women because it makes them feel confident and comfortable with who they are. If you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day alone or with your friends, feel free to put this on replay.
  7. Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez has always released good songs such as “The Heart Wants What It Wants”, “Back To You” and most importantly her most popular song, “A Year Without Rain”. The line “We’d always go into it blindly, I needed to lose you to find me, this dancing was killing me softly, I needed to hate you to love me,” talks about how she ignored the red flags until she finally realized that the only time she could love herself was if she lost the person she fell in love with. This song tells us the reality of relationships and how acts of toxicity can affect our self-love. To those who are recovering from a heartbreak or slowly realizing their self worth, this song is for you.

Although there are so many songs I wanted to share with you all, these are my top seven songs.
