Enderun Clinches Back-to-Back Win in the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines’ Business Leadership Program

It’s a back-to-back win for two consecutive years for Enderun’s BSE students, Fae Alminarez and Amber Masorong, at the Business Plan Competition of The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines’ (AmCham) Business Leadership Program (BLP) held on April 25, 2018 at the New World Hotel. Fae headed the team that represented Enderun in 2018, while Amber spearheaded the team in 2017.

AmCham’s business competition is focused on the realm of social enterprises and their winning criteria for the business plan is for it to hit a triple bottom line: People, Profit, and Planet. For this year’s competition, the students were tasked to come up with a business plan on improving the farming industry. While in last year’s competition, the students were asked to create a business plan on waste management improvement.

Enderun Colleges has been sending students to AmCham’s BLP for six years. In 2016, Enderun was represented by Kristian Sebastian, and in 2015, by David Paman and Willis Turingan. In 2014, 2013, and 2012, Enderun was represented by Christina King, Izzy Matias, and Kim Esber, respectively.

When asked about the BSE students leading their respective AmCham teams, Marivic R. Ignacio, College of Business and Entrepreneurship Department Head at Enderun Colleges, shares that being able to take the helm and be recognized as a team leader at AmCham is already a challenge in itself given that this is a pool of overachievers.

AmCham’s Business Leadership Program selects the top 30 students across the country based on their academic achievements and contributions as leaders in their schools and their co-curricular organizations. The 10-day program also includes talks from industry leaders, CEOs, and executives to provide the students insights on career paths, business practices, and company culture.

AmCham aims to “inspire future generations of committed Filipino business professionals who will make a positive influence in the country and in the world”. As with Amber and Fae, winning the competition is only the beginning of their life-changing journeys.
