Four Enderun Colleges students namely Calvin Cu, Noel Mauricio, SafaRodas, and Monica Yang won the Battle of the IACC Trophy Challenge of the Asian Culinary Challenge in Pahang, Malaysia.

Six teams from Malaysia, Thailand, and Philippines battled it out for the gold medal. Each team participated in the live cooking competition and was tasked to create a four-course meal within two hours, with the ingredients provided and revealed on the spot. The Enderun team prepared Seafood with Raw and Cooked Vegetables and Tomato Marmalade, Herb-Infused Beef Broth with Mushroom Ravioli, Chicken Roulade with Glazed Vegetables and Herbed Potato Mash, and Layer of Chocolate Mousse and Nougatine with Fresh Fruits.

“Because we did not know the ingredients prior to the competition, we came up with different sets of menu and practiced preparing different dish components that are flexible with various ingredients,” SafaRodas said. Kyla Rosales, the group’s Team Captain, was tasked by Enderun’s Culinary Head Chef See Cheong Yan to supervise the team in coming up with different menu sets and prepared them for possible contingencies.
