Enderun co-organizes 2nd Multidisciplinary Research Festival of Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Professions and Ascendens Asia
On November 23, 2019, Enderun Colleges co-organized the 2nd Multidisciplinary Research Festival together with the Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Professions and Ascendens Asia. The two latter institutions started the initiative of organizing Multidisciplinary Research Festivals (MRFs) to provide platforms for young researchers to present their research works and engage them in intelligent discussions with other participants to gather more input towards enhancing their research work.
The Research Department of Enderun institutionalizes a research-driven culture composed of collaborative partnerships with various research teams, faculty, staff, students and industry partners. As a center of research excellence that has started to publish several editions of scholarly reviews this year, Enderun Colleges also served as the event’s host school through the Research Department headed by Dr. Jun Salipsip. Enderun Colleges student Isabel Tagle was one of the presenters who talked about her research entitled Bleisure: A quantitative study on destination as a factor in attending MICE events. Her study was selected as one of the top 12 studies presented during the event. Aside from receiving a special award, Tagle’s study was also selected for the full paper publication in the special edition publication of the event which will be published by the Enderun Colleges Research Department together with Ascendens Asia Singapore and Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Professions.
Five Enderun students under the Events Management class of Enderun Colleges faculty and Philippine MICE Academy Certification Director Cynthia Bernabe were greatly involved in important aspects of the event such as the on-site coordination of the event for registration, food and beverage and overall coordination with the external organizers and the internal team of Enderun.
“We are honored to be a part of this research festival wherein Enderun students became very much involved in organizing the event as well as participating through research. I am very proud that they are able to apply what they learn and contribute something to notable events such as the 2nd Multidisciplinary Research Festival and we look forward to joining more these initiatives in the future,” shared Bernabe.
