Entrepreneurship Week 2012

Entrepreneurship Week 2012

If there’s anything that’s trending in today’s competitive world, it’s the growth of various businesses in the market no matter how small or big.

The 20th to 24th of February marked Entrep-Week 2012 at Enderun Colleges. The week provided the opportunity for students to practice their craft as business-minded individuals who have nothing but innovative and clever ideas that have great potential. From delightful desserts to eye-catching laptop cases, witty t-shirts and USB designs, you can’t help but find amusement and value in the range of products being sold by our own esteemed students.

However, what’s a business without an effective marketing strategy? Entrep-Week gave the opportunity for students to test their charisma and rapport in a variety of activities. One that stood out was the ‘Elevator-Pitch’ (E-Pitch). Students had to sell an idea to the panel of judges and their goal was to get the judges to give them their card. Students who were able to successfully deliver an idea not only got a card back, but also a prize of 1,500 php. To an extent, this reflects how successful sales are made in reality. Not only was this activity fun, but also pro-active.

One of the participants, Jessa Jastrzemski states that, “The experience was overall fulfilling- we (as a group) worked well together and everybody contributed equally and completed tasks and responsibilities which they were assigned to which made the business successful.”

Overall, it was nice to see good participation among the students. Each stall definitely made an impact, not only because of their products but also with their ingenious stall names. Congratulations to the following for a successful Entrep Week! Designyo, Cookie ng Ina Mo atbp, CFC, A.T, Candy Carnival, Edge, Fully Wear, Wrapsology, Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, Developing Fast Access, Stick Jobs, 16++, ITS You, Fruit Tease.

She enjoys writing as it helps her take time to think about more meaningful things that can be easily overlooked and put on paper. To her, it is pretty awesome looking back at something she has written, " After putting it away for a couple of months or so.. then I read it again, I feel good that this is actually something I wrote."
