An icon: Marissa Felix
She is known for her outspoken personality, confidence in the learning environment, and ability to drive students to learn more independently. Ms. Marissa Felix, Assistant Department Head for General Education, teaches Humanities and GE100, more known as Enderun Experience.
What makes Ms. Felix unforgettable are her stories about anything and everything under the sun. She is happy to share her journey in becoming a part of the Enderun community, “Jun Talegon kept talking about how good the school is as a learning environment and as an opportunity for growth, not only for students but as well as staff and faculty. Once I got in, I did not want to leave.”
When asked about her teaching style, this is what she had to say. “My teaching style is based on a more personal level. I try to make the students learn without them realizing it as well.” Her mentor as a teacher is Dr. Antonio Torralba, the former Dean of The University of Asia and the Pacific because he made learning seem fun for her when she was still a student. He made his class do tasks that were challenging; he made them step out of their comfort zones, so they could learn to be more resourceful and independent. Today, this is what Ms. Felix tries to carry forward to her students as well.
