Three months after their culinary training at Alain Ducasse Institute Philippines, the second batch of Youth with Future scholars from Tuloy Foundation had their graduation ceremony at Enderun Colleges’ Restaurant 101.

An initiative of Alain Ducasse Education in France and Alain Ducasse Institute Philippines at Enderun Colleges, Youth with a Future supports the culinary center of Tuloy Foundation.

Among the guests were supporters of Youth with a Future, including Noye and Nicole Fandino, owners of Village Gourmet, Co.; Ricky Gutierrez, President and CEO of 1771 Group of Restaurants; Vicky Pacheco, Executive Chef and COO of 1771 Group of Restaurants; Chef Robertino Garcia, Chef de Partie of MIASCOR Aviation Group; and Al Purugganan, owner of KKK Pinoy Food Revolution and Tamarind. Also in attendance were Dr. Edgardo Rodriguez, President of Enderun Colleges and Fr. Rocky Evangelista, founder of Tuloy Foundation.

As part of their graduation, Chef Cheong Yan See, Culinary Head of Enderun Colleges, assigned the scholars to prepare a buffet dinner for the guests. The menu consisted of Pressed Chicken with Foie Gras, Shrimp Burgers, Lamb and Beef Tajine, and Braised Pork Belly with Peanut Glaze among others.

After dinner, Chef See awarded each scholar with a Certificate of Culinary Arts from Alain Ducasse Education in France. He also announced that they were successfully placed for internship and job placement at acclaimed establishments – MIASCOR Catering, Vask, Chateau 1771, Cirkulo, KKK Pinoy Food Revolution, and Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.

Fr. Rocky Evangelista then expressed his gratitude to the supporters of the initiative. “Tuloy Foundation is thankful for Alain Ducasse Institute Philippines’ guidance. I believe more than the culinary skills, this whole experience developed their self-esteem and made them confident to face future challenges,” Fr. Rocky said.

Youth with a Future started in April 2014 with ten scholars from Tuloy Foundation, who are currently working at renowned establishments in the Philippines and abroad.

Tuloy Foundation is a non-government and non-profit organization that provides residential care and comprehensive educational programs for street children in order to reintegrate them into mainstream society. In close coordination with Tuloy, Alain Ducasse Institute Philippines enhanced the curriculum of Tuloy’s culinary center by patterning it after the existing programs offered in Enderun’s campus. Following an 8-month program in Tuloy’s campus, the scholars were exposed to further training at Alain Ducasse Institute Philippines for three months.
