Enderun Multi-purpose Covered Court Inaugurated

December 10, 2010 was marked as a special day for Enderun Colleges as its administrative group led the Enderun community in inaugurating the newest addition to the school’s topnotch facilities.

The inauguration kicked off with Philosophy professor Fr. Luis David, SJ blessing the court and Dr. James Clarkson, Dean of General Education, giving his Opening Remarks. Dr. Clarkson talked about the history of the Multi Purpose Covered Court (MPCC) and the preparations that went with its construction. Representing the student body was Vincent Flores, SG President, who delivered a few words of thanks. Freshman Rafa Miranda took the first shot at the court followed with a lay-up. Light snacks was served thereafter.

The inaugural game was an All-star basketball match between the students and members of the Enderun faculty and staff. Mr. Javier Infante, the school president, did the ceremonial toss.

The first half of the game had the students leading all the way, but the employees scored on a couple of turnovers by the students to close the gap at the halftime break.

The second half, particularly the fourth quarter, was a tight affair. With two minutes left in the ballgame, there was still a tie in the scores. The students relied on great teamwork to pull through, 78-64. Freshman Paolo Rabat top scored for the students with 13, while Coach Paul Encarnacion led the employees with 11. Play-by-play commentary was done by Jose Gaerlan and Rainier Barbers.
