Growing Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship is another degree offered by Enderun under the College of Business. In the past semester, it experienced a substantial influx of students eager to enroll in this course whether transferees or first degree takers. Though it is a fresh addition to the academic services tendered by the school, which was originally known as learning center for Hospitality and Culinary courses, the Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship says that there is much to expect from this program.

Dean Edgardo Rodriguez, the Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship, explains how the required internships for Entrepreneurship differ from the other two main courses offered in the campus. For the first internship, a student is encouraged to work with an established entrepreneur or a medium to big-sized family enterprise provided that it started out small. The second internship differs significantly because a student is required to start up his or her own business unlike BSBA students who are required to work with a big company. The business set up required can either be run individually or as a group. Meanwhile, if a student wishes to start business in campus, he will be given a workstation in an incubator office dedicated for such purposes. Dean Ed stresses that before the Entrepreneurship major can finish the degree, the student must face a faculty evaluation to make sure that the business that he or she set up is sustainable. After it has been approved by the faculty, and the student has graduated, Enderun will continue to be available to advice the student on his/her newly started up business.

Dean Edgardo Rodriquez also gives a sneak peek into the future plans for the program. He says that Entrepreneurship students can also look forward to the series of workshops the college is planning. These workshops are to be given by established entrepreneurs and successful franchisers in the coming year. In addition, some students will be sent to a number of Entrepreneurship conferences.

The program may be a fresh addition to the campus, yet there are many other grander plans for the future. Indeed, there is a lot in store for Entrepreneurship students at Enderun Colleges.
