Cuisines from all over the globe

The Enderun Food and Wine Society (EFWS) recently organized the first Enderun Fair last February 19, 2011, at the Multi-purpose Covered Court and The Courtyard.

Themed “Around the World,” the event was held in collaboration with the different registered student organizations (RSOs). Each RSO put up a booth representing a country and sold dishes prominent in that country’s cuisine. Goulash from Austria, fish and chips from England and kebabs from Turkey were some of the dishes that were featured in the fair.

Aside from the food booths, student bands from Enderun and other schools performed and provided music for the occasion. And as expected in a fair, there were various games where prizes were given away.

The fair was well received by the attendees though some observed there could have been more activities for participants. According to Rachel Lee, “I liked the idea of being able to try food from other countries all in one place. After eating, I sat down majority of the time though. I wanted to be more active.”

“I enjoyed all the bands but the food was the best part for me. Otherwise I didn’t know what else to do,” Sung Moon Park commented.

Noting the feedbacks received from participants, the Enderun Food and Wine Society has committed that Enderun Fair will be back next year with more in store for everyone. They plan on setting up a better venue and featuring more interesting events.

For this first staging of Enderun fair, San Miguel Corporation served as Gold Sponsor while Enderun Extension and Croley Foods Corporation were Silver Sponsors.
