Patterns in Lifestyle: Dr. Francis Santa Maria

Dr. Francis Santa Maria, or “Doc Francis”, is one of the new professors at Enderun. He enjoys challenging jobs, being creative and multi-tasking rather than simple, routine work. His mother, a public school teacher, had great influence on him; she believed in him a lot. His father’s influences were more about “taking challenges”, and “not waiting for opportunities but creating opportunities”. Doc Francis believes that God put him in this world to help others define their own success in life.

Doc Francis’ impressive educational background includes the following: a college degree from University of the Philippines Diliman, MA units from the Ateneo de Manila University, PhD from North West London University, Collateral Studies in Germany and Switzerland, further studies in University of the Philippines and a diploma in Tourism Planning and Management from WitzMan in Israel.

Before joining Enderun, Doc Francis was a guidance councillor at the Ateneo de Manila University. He was also a teacher at the University of the Philippines. He also does clinical work as a clinical and sports psychologist where Philippine National and International athletes go to, including the football team, Azkals. Doc Francis also conducts seminars and taalks in schools and companies about Self – Development, Personal Development, Medical Health Wellness, Holistic Health, and Stress Management.

What he likes most about Enderun is the inspiration he gets from the students as well as the complexity of backgrounds and profiles. Doc Francis does not worry about everyone liking him, but rather, what is important to him is to help one or more of his students change patterns in lifestyle. Should a student not like him, he tries to learn from the experience so as to become a better teacher.
