Enderun PEER General Assembly 2024: Igniting Change, One Peer at a Time
Anticipation filled the air as students from all corners of the campus gathered for the Enderun Peer General Assembly, organized by the PEER organization. The recent event was vibrant, uniting students dedicated to building a stronger, more compassionate community within the campus. The excitement was evident as students came together for a day focused on growth, interaction, and self-empowerment. With every conversation and session, the assembly proved to be a powerful catalyst reigniting the sense of purpose that drives students to lead with compassion and dedication. It was more than just an event; it sparked the commitment to the values that the PEER organization stands for.
The primary goal of the assembly was to reinforce the organization’s mission as they fostered their core values, such as empathy, teamwork, and leadership among facilitators. These values were brought to life in every interaction and activity. According to Cheng Januario, a logistics officer for the assembly, “One key aspect that this assembly aims to foster in peer facilitators is the capability of the members to socialize with other peers, making each other feel comfortable in the group.”
This focus on creating a comfortable and collaborative environment reflected the assembly’s broader purpose: to equip facilitators as they provide meaningful support within the student body. By promoting openness and inclusivity, the assembly helped facilitators prepare to build a stronger community.

A key highlight of the event was the “Freeze Frame.” Participants were grouped and given prompts to act out, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones and connect with their peers. Shaun Eldrich Brorromeo, a co-host of the assembly noted that the activity was particularly impactful among the attendees.
He shared, “It was fun seeing the different creative side of the PEER’s, which made the experience even more memorable.” For Shaun, it pushed everyone to think creatively and form new friends through collaboration.
The assembly also provided a space for openness and vulnerability. During an “empathy circle” activity, peer facilitators and attendees shared personal stories and challenges they had faced. This allowed participants to connect on a personal level, creating an atmosphere of mutual support and respect. As participant Karla Soltis described, the atmosphere at the assembly was warm, supportive, and filled with a sense of camaraderie, capturing the welcoming and inclusive moment that defined the assembly.
Throughout the day, the attendees experienced a supportive and energetic atmosphere. Psalmae Barrun, an attendee, described the event as welcoming, collaborative, and motivating. The energy was contagious— students supported each other and shared ideas freely. This was echoed by creative and marketing head Maxine Pau, who explained that the event’s structure, including the casual and interactive activities among peers like the ice breakers and raffle prizes, helped foster a relaxed environment where everyone felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences. The casual vibe made it easy for students to let their guard down and engage with one another.
The event’s impact extended beyond the day itself as it equipped facilitators with valuable skills they could bring to their roles. Marielle Mae S. Dela Cruz noted that the assembly helped build empathy, leadership, and teamwork skills— qualities that are essential for an effective peer facilitation. These are the skills that will sustain within facilitators, helping them lead and support in real, impactful ways. By creating a space for connection, character growth, and shared experiences, the assembly left a lasting impression on participants, paving the way for a more compassionate and understanding Enderun community.
About Aiel V.:
@aoui.v
Hellooo!! My name is Aiel, but you can call me Aoui too! I am a student taking Finance management as my course, and while I’m all about personal growth and learning, let’s be real—the true stars of my life are my four dogs—Kukay, Bambam, Wuba, and Chiwi—and my cat, Maui. They take up SO much of my time (and energy ) since they need constant care and ALL my love 🥰. And while I’m pretty sure they love me back… it mostly comes in the form of poop and pee— they’re very generous 🙂 But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. They’re my little chaos-makers, and I love them to bits, even when they’re making a mess and, well, they never let me forget to clean up the house every time 🐾
