It is undeniable that this pandemic can be a barrier and limitation to students, most especially those taking hospitality courses, in having opportunities to participate and take part in live tastings and workshops. The IHM Special Projects Team in collaboration with the Enderun Food and Wine Society (EFWS) were able to organize an event where individuals can gain knowledge and hone their skills in the areas of coffee, wine, and mixology without leaving the comfort of their own homes. Participants were encouraged to follow along the workshops with their own equipment or opt to purchase them from EFWS.
The start of the school year is an exciting time for any freshman. They’re presented with the prospect of new environments, new people, and new opportunities. But because of the pandemic, meeting new people and interacting with the community has proven to be a challenging task. For this reason, the IHM Special Projects Team, decided to host the Freshman Mixer over Zoom last September 27, 2021. The event aimed to give freshmen the opportunity to meet and interact with their batchmates.
The Enderun Food and Wine Society (EFWS) is a well-known name in Enderun. It is known not only as the co-curricular Hotel Administration organization, or that organization that hones it’s members to be industry ready, but also as one of the organizations that has been able to provide job opportunities to their members even before they graduate.

On the 1st day of September 2021, the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Philippine Chapter held its 2nd Business Assembly on Zoom in which their new Chief Executive Officer, Liz Ortiguera was introduced.
Good things come in threes and the IHM Special Projects Team definitely showcased that with the third and final installment of their event series, The Great Food Challenge, held last April 24. After an exciting day with eggs and another thrilling day featuring Spam, the event organizers did not disappoint with this team challenge called the 2 Course Meal Contest.
Last April 8, the IHM Special Projects Team held the first part of a new event series called The Great Food Challenge, where students can compete against one another in a set of challenges centered around a specific theme. This first installment called the Egg-tastic Challenge had two main events: The Egg White Whipping Challenge and The Egg Dish Plating Challenge.
On the 18th of March, the Enderun students had the opportunity to listen to a profound and intellectual conversation about the hospitality industry during the webinar, “Changing Seasons: Innovating the Hospitality Industry with Simon Casson”, hosted by Mr. Jack Tuason, and held by the Office of Career Services. The guest speaker, Mr. Simon Casson, is the President of Hotel Operations at the Four Seasons managing properties in Europe to the Middle East and in Africa. Mr. Casson shared his journey in the Four Seasons, discussed how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the hospitality industry, and advised the younger generations to grow their skills, embark on a journey of self evaluation, become leaders, and keep positive
