Enderun Brings It On at NAASCU 16th Season

It is an exciting time for Enderun Colleges as it emerges as one of the newest—and most promising—member schools in the 16th Season of the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU), a series of intercollegiate games taking place until the month of October.
Around 150 Enderun students cheered for the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams during the opening day of NAASCU’s 16th season, held at Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City on August 25. The crowd was wowed by St. Clare College’s and University of Makati’s respective opening performances, followed by the parade of the 14 participating colleges and universities from Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
NAASCU Chairman, Dr. Jay Adalem delivered the welcoming remarks, in which he mentioned that this season is the biggest, and is a breakthrough year for NAASCU as it has finally found home in its TV partners, Solar Sports and Basketball TV.
Commissioner Fritz Gaston also congratulated everyone in his speech, saying that NAASCU is now at par with other athletic associations such as UAAP and NCAA in terms of the number of its member schools, especially now that PBA officials will officiate the games. He reminded everyone that NAASCU aims to promote sports among the youth by inviting colleges and universities to take part in friendly competition.
The Mister and Miss NAASCU contest was held on the same day. Enderun was represented by athletes, Ajhay Khatri and Kitkat Rivilla.
Before the opening ceremony ended, the Oath of Members and Oath of Players were both held to promote the interest of intercollegiate sports, followed by an intermission number from the Dance Ensembles of the Philippine Merchant Marine School. To conclude, Commissioner Fritz Gaston formally declared NAASCU’s 16th Season, open.
This season is televised via Solar Sports every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (5:00PM – 9:00PM) and on Basketball TV every Monday to Saturday (2:00PM – 6:00PM).
