You Know You’re a Titan When…
The past few semesters have been quite a ride, from our sudden shift to online classes to finally adjusting to the Zoom College lifestyle. Thus, to lift your spirits and have things to reminisce on or look forward to, we have compiled moments when one might feel especially like a Titan.
A survey was launched to collect different memories and viewpoints from various Titans online. Start reading each item as, “You know you’re a Titan when —”
Campus Throwback Section

From the Canteen to the Venice Grand Canal Mall, one of the things that most Titans look forward to daily is the selection of food choices in the area. Simply within the campus itself, we have the accessible Canteen, adorable under-stairway Bistro, snazzy Restaurant 101, and the very popular Bar. During Titan’s week, too, the campus halls and open area become filled with delicious scents and tasty food from local food businesses. Within the vicinity, nearly unlimited options are lined up inside the mall.
Booming air-conditioning in the Library and steaming hidden classrooms, one of the things you might be nostalgic about are the temperature extremes in the campus. Variable to the location, time of the day, and type of uniform one is wearing at the moment, the noticeably extreme temperature was a notable part of campus life. *queue the line of cozy sleeping students on the couch in the freezing Library*
One of the trademarks of a True Titan is their full uniform. Strutting around, in-campus or outside, wearing your full business armor definitely boosts your confidence. You’ve probably felt spunky donned in your coat with a pin, ready to walk to your lecture class (maybe late, and maybe with a Starbucks Iced Coffee wrapped around your hands).
For the students and visitors of Enderun, The Uniform really is one of the most impressionable cultures of the campus.
Well, if Starbucks feels too far away to walk in your heels there’s always the Bar serving affordable refreshments. Fruit shakes and different types of caffeine in the day; fun drinks at the appropriate times. When you’re thirsty, go to the Bar.
Who could ever forget our adorable campus furstudents, Jango and Gucci? You could be walking to the next building for your class and have a quick stop to look or pet either of them when they’re out for their regular campus walks. Going to Titan’s Hall, you could even be greeted by their familiar scent and drool-y adorable snouts. Busy sleeping, playing around with students, and napping (again) all day, it doesn’t seem like the two of them would be graduating anytime soon. Another part of campus life to look forward to seeing again!
Titans Online Era
- You know of the Webinars Unlimited
- You’ve been on a Discord Study Date! (or thought of one)
- You’ve experienced Screenshare Mishaps
- You’ve seen or been through Online Roleplay for class (r.i.p. dignity)
Surely you’ve attended one or more (or a lot more) webinars that our various diligent organizations have prepared for you! Counting the online student parties and game events, there’s no end to enriching and enjoying yourself as an online academic. Thanks to Enderun Student Life and our Registered Student Organizations for always making the effort of keeping things fun, even online.
We can’t meet our study groups online, but thanks to Discord we can at least emulate being in the library hanging out doing our *study dates*. When we miss company for our all-nighters, you could easily hop on a call with your friends and feel their presence. Easily, despite the set-up we can all study. You know what they say, studying is 10% reading and 90% complaining to your friends about studying.
Especially when we all just started shifting to our online platforms, we all had to get used to doing our presentations and lectures through call. Probably at least once, you’ve had a screensharing mishap, seen someone have one, or felt anxious about having it. If not a screen share issue, maybe a camera one. You might have done something embarrassing with your cams on. Worry not, though, it is hilariously common as a Titan online. Beats being unscripted and unprepared for a face-to-face presentation, though!
You could have done this for PE or for your other GE classes (I’m looking at you Understanding the Self). You might have had to pretend-dance with a partner for an output, or act out a whole character development for a project. Either way, it’s not the online class experience if you haven’t worried about this. In the end, we let go of our shame and actually submit a pretty well-executed output. Cheers to online, I guess? It’s at least fun to look back on!
Other experiences you might associate with being a Titan, too, are timeless ones. A good few of the responses (and hearsays back in face-to-face classes) touch on how one is to be terrified hearing about our beloved Ms. Bel and Chef See. We also have our tight-knit Enderun community, where it’s easy to talk to everyone!
Lifelong friendships to be made, amazing internships to think about, and the surprisingly jolly and relaxing competition of everyone during Titans Week—which even got ported online! Let this be a reminder, then, to make the most out of our college lives in Enderun. In this safe and enjoyable environment, we can do our best to get out of our comfort zones and feel the burgundy and gold blood running through our veins. Online or not, let us arise , Titans!
