Enderun’s New Titans Hall opens first quarter of 2014
“Expect something more than just a sports complex and a court,” says Simon Bakker, the man who takes charge of the new build outs of facilities in Enderun.
The upcoming Athletic Building (to be named Titans Hall), anticipated to be accessible by the 1st quarter of 2014, is located beside the tent at the back of the campus. Previously the multi-purpose covered court (MPCC), it is currently being constructed into a two-story building.
“We are basically just using the same foundation of the MPCC and adding another level to it”. The building will be packed with facilities. The ground floor will be supporting four classrooms, an office, a library, meeting rooms, locker rooms, a fitness center and an infirmary, while the second floor will hold a full-sized basketball court with bleachers. The exterior of the building will be in black brick, under the inspiration of the prime minister’s residence at 10 Downing Street, England, while the interior keeps a minimalistic and modern look.
In a nutshell, the building is basically an area dedicated to student life and activities. As Jack Tuason, co-founder of the school puts it, “each area in the building is a community – a community where people come together. Be it the library the gym, classrooms or the basketball court”.
