The ceremony was graced by Mr. Simon Casson, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach who is no stranger to Enderun, having been the commencement speaker in Enderun’s first graduation ceremonies in 2010, followed shortly by Chairman Richard Gordon, Chairman and CEO of the Philippine Red Cross. Both speakers shared stories of their humble beginnings and what they had to go through in order to reach success. Mr. Gordon was known for his efforts in Philippine tourism, having previously held the post as Secretary. His campaign “WOW Philippines” skyrocketed both the local and international tourism in the country. Mr. Gordon emphasised on the need to face the unknown to be able to reap rewards. “My father once told me, ‘I don’t care what you are but always be the best in what you do.’ You have a very good education in Enderun, and so compete with the world. Create a new country out of tourism. Tourism is the biggest industry in the world. It creates jobs that will alleviate human poverty.” said Mr. Gordon, “Always remember that if you make fear your friend, you make the future your friend” he added.
