Internships FAQS: Wondering where to start?
As an Enderun Titan, one of the things that you should look forward to is the internship opportunities the school offers. It is one of the most memorable and exciting experiences a student can have studying in Enderun. If you are still confused about the application process or the overview seminar, do not worry because we got you covered! We are going to answer the frequently asked questions by students when applying for internships.
I already attended the Overview Seminar when I took my first internship. Do I have to attend again for my second internship?
The answer is yes, the overview seminar enlightens the students about the application process, new industry partners, positions being offered, required work hours for each company, and more. The Office of Career Services (OCS) constantly updates the information to be presented to the students. Attending the overview seminar for your second internship is required, so you know what are the changes in procedures despite attending the first one.
Can I attend the Overview seminar even if I’m not going to take my internship yet?
Of course! The Office of Career Services is encouraging students to join the seminar to have a brief idea of the process and requirements needed for an internship. Attending the seminar enables you to make the necessary preparations, especially if the company you would like to intern for would require you to do your internship for 6-12 months. Attending the seminar would also help in preparing yourself mentally and physically.
If I already attended the Overview seminar to grasp the idea of internships in the past, do I need to attend the seminar when I’m going to apply?
Yes. This is a reminder that attending the seminar is required every time you want to apply for an internship. The information presented during the seminar is always updated. To make sure you are on the right track, you need to attend the overview seminar.
I missed the Overview seminar because I had class. Can I still apply for an internship?
Unfortunately, no. The seminar is a requirement for students to apply for an internship. Always remember that the Office of Career Services conducts the seminar twice a semester. If you are planning to take your internship, make sure to find time to attend the seminar!
I didn’t receive any announcement on the Overview seminar but I really need to take my internship already. Can I apply without attending the seminar?
Nope, you cannot apply without attending the seminar. The overview seminar is the first step in applying for an internship. The Office of Career Services also announces all overview seminar schedules through an email blast in their Enderun app channel and their Facebook page. Make sure to check in those platforms to know when the seminars are scheduled.
I’m currently taking a prerequisite subject for my internship next semester. Can I attend the Overview Seminar and start the application process?
Yes! The Office of Career Services verifies each student before endorsing them to a company. Before the OCS can endorse you, they wait for your midterm grade to ensure that you pass the subject. Should you fail the prerequisite by the end of the semester, the OCS will place your internship application on hold even if you already have a confirmed placement.
