A Charity Dinner at Enderun Colleges
Just before Christmas holidays, another natural calamity much like the dreaded Ondoy, took the lives of hundreds of people. Tropical storm Sendong hit the cities of Iligan and Cagayan De Oro when most of its residents were asleep. Imagine raging waters sweeping your house while you slept!
In response to this tragedy, two Enderun students, Alex Dy and Vincent Flores initiated the relief efforts for the typhoon victims, and coordinated with Mr. Erwin Lizarondo. Days later, donations were sent and a soup kitchen was up and running serving the victims in their respective cities.
Shortly after the start of the new year, the school was asked to host a charity dinner for the benefit of the typhoon victims with the Philippine Azkals and Club be Futbol Internacional de Madrid. It was held a day before their much -awaited match on January 7 at the Rizal Stadium. Since both teams did not have the same schedules, Enderun had two separate dinners for them. The menu consisted of Duck Terrine as a starter; Rabbit Simfaina, Chicken Basquaise, Spaghetti Aglio Olio, and Ratatouille of vegetables for the entrée; and Vanilla Youghurt Mousee and Melon Mint Sherbet for desert.
The dinner was prepared by none other than the students themselves with the help of Chef Martin and Chef See. Before the entrée was served, Mr. Lizarondo introduced the team behind the relief operations. And as the team players enjoyed their food, an audio visual presentation featuring Enderun Community Drive’s efforts for Sendong was projected. Every now and then a soccer ball would circulate the tables of the players and would be autographed by them. Following the dinner were photo opportunities with the respective teams.
Enderun has been actively participating in relief operations during times of natural calamities. The school has once again concluded another successful charity event!
