How do you appear to others? As a distinctive person? Someone who knows where he or she is going? Or do you just blend in all too quietly into the blank grey wall behind, nameless, no presence, no vitality?

“Personal Branding is an important key to your success in business, management, investments or hospitality events.” Personal Branding is thus one of our goals as students in order to help us in the different industries that we are aiming for. It’s how you ‘brand’ yourself, it’s your public identity.

On September 27, 2017, First Edition organized a lecture by Marisyll Ples Pengson of John Robert Powers Manila. The JPR Personality Development Program Makati was named after movie actor John Robert Powers who trained actresses and famous people like Jackie Kennedy, Princess Grace of Monaco and Henry Fonda. From a modeling agency, JPR has become a total personality development program.

Working towards an overall picture of oneself, Ms. Pengson picked on simple situations — how to act in front of a huge audience; how to communicate effectively with different people from different companies and cultures.  The discussion focused on the importance of thinking before speaking, especially before large audiences and on the Internet. Because on many such occasions, words once spoken or written can rarely be taken back. Brief reflection might save a lot of embarrassing and painful situations.

The discussion was followed by an open forum, and those who spoke in were gifted with a free session of Personal Branding at John Robert Powers.

Both college and senior high school students attended.
